    You're a very good writer. My ancestors were Norwegian; I have a family tree full of norsk fiskeren and gardeieren (sp?) (fishermen and farmers, plus an occasional sailor or soldier or preacher or teacher).

    Plus one of my favorite movies is "Cold Fever," which is set in Iceland.

    Keep writing and I'll keep reading.

    •  Minor grammer check :) (5+ / 0-)

      Fiskeren = the fisher(man)
      (En) fisker = (a) fisher(man)

      If you want the plural it would be fiskere.

      Likewise with the farmers:
      (En) gårdeier = (a) farm owner

      Gårdeiere = farm owners

      Gårdeieren would translate as the farm owner.
