  •  I had my first (3+ / 0-)

panic attack in 2002. It started at night and I really thought I was dying. I went to the ER and all the machines that go ping said I was fine. I was quite vocal to the mean cold doctor that was 'treating 'me about western medicine and drugs . lol. I do have a big mouth. She said in that case go home and drink warm milk and listen to classical music. When she was out of the room the guy who gave me the cardiograph told me that I should try acupuncture.

My sister in law had for years gone to a Chinese woman who was a cardiologist in China. During the cultural revolution she was sent to the country to be rehabilitated. She had been in medical school and came from a family of physicians who were targeted for being too western. In the 80's she came to the US and practices both traditional Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture in my city.

I called and went to her the day after my ER visit. The acupuncture helped but what really helped was the breathing exercises and relaxation techniques I learned from her. I still get these attacks from time to time but now I recognize them and can usually deal with them. I haven't had to go to Dr Wong  for a few years now. When I feel panic setting in however it's easy to get caught up in it. You might try acupuncture but if your broke and don't have a good Chinese doctor at hand, this is probably useless advise.

My heart goes out to you for your troubles. Don't be so hard on yourself dear Shiz. Life is as my mom used to say one damned thing after another.  As Dr. Wong would say your Chi is strong and I somehow know that you will be okay. You have so much heart and spirit and your smart. It's hard to keep the pieces of your life together and not fall in these harsh times.

Your writing and open spirit  always lift me up and give me a good perspective and usually a needed smile. I wish I could just pour all the spirit, humanity you have given us right back into your life. May the hard times your facing, lead you and little Shiz to a new and better place.
