  •  The Plan for After the Fall (3+ / 0-)

    Dear Richard Myers:

Thanks for all of your solid work on the movement against hate speech radio.   If you can bring down Clear Channel, so be it.

However, time to begin thinking about what to do after the fall the the opportunities that might be available.

Experience from the past has shown that the religious broadcasting industry uses recessions in other parts of broadcasting to buy and pick up radio stations to convert to religious broadcasting.

If Clear Channel goes belly up, we need a plan to ensure that the so-called Christian radio movement does not move in an organized way to pick up the pieces to their sector's advantage.

What we need is a way to re-establish locally owned and managed broadcasting that will create local jobs and produce diverse and rich radio programming.   We don't need to watch like what happened in the past when Christian radio acquired public radio station frequencies and privatized that kind of broadcasting.

Maybe it is time for 'radio cooperatives'....more socialism, eh?
