    surrounding many of the county governments in the rural parts of Kentucky make it very difficult for those who might want to change things.

    There was a judge down in Laurel county who was actually sentencing people to attend church. Apparently, nobody told him that this is highly unconstitutional. In another case I heard about from that county, a woman lost custody of her kids because she was a practicing Wiccan--the court  gave custody to her husband, who was not only a spouse abuser, but also gave these children (all under age 12) free access to firearms, and allowed them to play with them. He also told this woman he wanted to molest her oldest daughter, from a previous marriage. The youngest child in that family has a dangerous chronic health condition that he refuses, to this day, to take her to the doctor for. But according to the court down there, this guy is apparently a better parent than the mother, who was never been abusive to the children in any way! Of course, he claims to be a Christian.
