    percolator.
It really makes superior coffee, better than a Mr. Coffee type machine. My friend gave it to me, her mother gave it to her. And when it quit working I was very sad.
I got so tired of buying coffee makers that would stop working every 2 years.
I went on line to look at coffee percolators. And as soon as I fell in love with one the reviews of buyers would pan them.
I don't mind that they are more expensive, but I want them to work for a long time for that money.
So I switched to a French Press, they always work.

The one sound that they forgot is the siren they used to sound off everyday at 12 o'clock noon.  I remember that very well.
I've decided that the Food Network cooking shows such as Chopped are to cooking as Roman Gladiators are to sport.
And the judges are as smug as sanctimonious as a Caesar that would give thumbs up or down. How many people have to cut themselves or fall down because they are too rushed before they go, whoops maybe this is unsafe?
And they make up the rules as they go along.
If you break a rule and they like you, you get to advance.
If those shows were on any other network there would be a Congressional hearing about it. It' borders on the Quiz Show scandals in my opinion.
What a great movie, Quiz Show.

of the old air raid sirens, long after the Cuban Missile Crisis ended. Can't remember when I last heard them -- 80s? 90s? -- but there was the steady horn, followed by the one that was kind of a "swooping" multitone. (Guess they're still used as tornado warnings in some parts of the country, but not around here.)

Some of those food shows should include a disclaimer, "Please don't try this at home".
