    the 2013 bill is indeed $2200 for the midle class, up from 2012.  You're right, though, that it can be amended at any time.

      That $2200 will get split up between your 24 or 26 paychecks throughout the year. So the immediate effect is small - 1/24 of $2200 each paycheck.

      And if they amend this by the end of January, they can factor in one month's extra tax payments throughout the next 11 months 'til it evens out.

        So if Obama doesn't play footsie RIGHT NOW, we fall off a CLIFF!  And we fall for a full year, during which time we have 365 opportunities to decide not to.  And even then, there's not much of a bang at the bottom.  But it's a CLIFF!!!!
