I'm always curious about red states never having lived in one. I had a 6 hour layover at Dallas/Ft worth Airport a week ago. My daughter and I were having a beer in one of the airport bars and a man who was busily typing on his computer keyboard opened a conversation by saying that he hoped he wasn't going to be on a flight with us. I did ask him about Rick Perry and N***er Rock Camp. He tried to compare Perry to Schwarzenegger (I live in CA) but reluctantly agreed that they aren't the same type of Republicans. I have to say that he had very good manners although I suspect he was a republican.
My daughter and I were returning to CA from Costa Rica. We took one of those tours with 2 friends and a busload of people. There was a couple from Austin who were my favorite people on the tour. They were liberals. He was a retired private eye and she had had a variety of occupations. They told us that Austin was completely different from the rest of Texas.

embarrassment to most all Texans when they really shut off the conditioning of supporting all things GOP.
