  •  My mom played Brubeck, too (4+ / 0-)

and I'm pretty sure I was introduced to mixed meter through her recordings of him.

I'm so glad I found your diary.  I play in a regional orchestra in TX and Chris is one of our featured artists in 2013. He's appearing w/Peter "Madcat" Ruth and Joel Brown. Now when I'm sitting there looking at him, I'll think of this diary and your descriptions.  Thank you so much!

You should have a lot of fun with those guys.

The priest said, "Today's sermon is called 'Liars', but first I have a question. How many of you have read Chapter 66 in Matthew?" Nearly every hand went up. "You're just the group I need to speak to," the priest said. "There's no such chapter."

Triple Play is one of the most fun bands I've ever seen -- particularly Madcat, who's a sneaky good musician and a great vocalist. Joel Brown's the Dean of Music at Skidmore, and Chris has been an adjunct there.

I love Chris -- multi-talented musician with a terrific sense of humor, and under that beard he's definitely got his dad's smile. Here's an interview I did with Chris last year.

Thanks for the interview link!  I'll share it with both my husband and standmate.

I'm sure that concert will be a hell of lot more fun than playing Babes in Toyland and Sleighride for the eleventy-seventh time!
