hell does Bloomberg know what the public wants?  He also thought the public wanted to go forward with the NY Marathon just days after Sandy hit and bodies were still being found in Staten Island.

This guy... and a lot of these other greedy clueless bastards...  I really don't know how long it will be before the torches and pitchforks come out.

He chose the word "pleasurable" to describe a mother and/or father having to house their children in a shelter?

"... it is a much more pleasurable experience than they ever had before."

“Is it great?" He elaborated a day later in response to outcry over his comments. "No. It’s not the Plaza Hotel ... but that’s not what shelter is supposed to be and that’s not what the public can afford or the public wants.”

Seriously, I better stop because I am likely to say things that I will regret.  And for the self-satisfied status quo cheerleaders, what the F is wrong with you defending all of this?

      what a maroon!

sometimes i wonder if he is trying to offend people because he can get away with it, or if he's just the clueless buffoon that he appears to be.

what goes on in Hizzoner's head.  I think clueless arrogant buffoon is the more likely answer.

To think of all the time and effort he has spent on trivial things like his obsession with food, soft drinks, smoking, etc.  I mean, those are problematic things, but when you compare them with abject poverty and homelessness... when you compare it with hundreds of thousands of stop and frisk abuses... it's not even in the same universe.

I really try not to wish bad things on people.  I have to hold myself back from doing it.  And lately it has been really, really hard not to wish those things.  I'm not talking about pain or death, I'm talking about wishing that these guys could spend a month or a year in the shoes of the people who are suffering and who they seem to consider to be some kind of inferior underclass who created their own problems.
