I first started noticing the effects of Reaganism in college in the 80's when I saw certain pre-corporate types self-select in classes along corporatist lines. I.e. the ones who whatever their majors were intended and expected to become highly-paid corporate execs within a few years after B-School, field specifics be damned.

The connection to jerks like Foxx is the elitist and amoral aspect. To people like Foxx it's about race, class and culture. To the people I knew in college it's about class and material things. Either way, we're dealing with emotionally shallow and morally bankrupt people looking out for themselves. It's a Reagan era thing.
