  •  Oh, yes! (10+ / 0-)

I was single for years. Having a toolbox was awesome. I didn't have to ask male friends to come over and fix things :) Funnily enough, I married a man who CAN'T fix things! LOL.

    •  I'd add: take her fishing. And hunting, if she (10+ / 0-)

wants to go. Camping is a good skill-set to have as well.

The world is gorgeous, and self-sufficiency affordable. To reverence creation properly, though, we have to spend some time in it, firsthand.

      •  Yes...the 7 year old loves camping (7+ / 0-)

fishing and Pow Wows.   The 17 year old hates the outdoors.   She doesn't like nor ever did being all girley.
Our 7 year old can wear beat up jeans and then want all the barbies and dress to the hilt.  Our 17 year old hates the color pink.   She likes maybe a dress once in a great while.  The other wears beret and dresses to school but jeans are OK too. She is learning electronics.   Love it.
        Worried the plumber to death.

but my son does. He's also frantic to go hunting. I like guns and target shooting, but the only time I ever went deer hunting, I purposely frightened off the deer. I could NOT shoot it. Boyfriend was pissed. Oh well. Hunting makes me queasy :(

Will probably take son to get his license so he can go with his friends. If my daughter wants to hunt, same thing. I'm kind of grossed out, though. Remember cleaning birdshot out of Christmas goose once. Blech. That was the one and only time. Back to ham and turkey after that awful experience!
