    long lecture by the Harvard researcher that wrote "the new Jim Crow". Excellent, excellent lecture.

    She gave a great history of the 'one trick after another' that was used to keep African American men in one sort of slavery or another.

    By the time of Dr. King some strides were made but the tide totally turned when reagan was elected. *

    Then she railed on the war on drugs, ridiculed marijuana convictions and slammed the prison industry and then tied it all into the new Jim Crow.

    Marijuana prohibition is absolutely surreal in its impact (in as many different things as it affects) and ending it is about far more than just getting hassled for toking up.

    *(Yes, I have totally butchered a 45 minute PhD lecture into two short sentences...)

    The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
