    ....as an out and out interceptor/bomber killer. Endurance was minimal. The final wartime Griffon-engined versions had to have an overload fuel tank installed in the rear fuselage, which gave very marginal longditudinal stability, until the fuel was consumed.

    The long-range PR versions, of course, used as much of the internal space in the wing as possible, which allowed them to cover deep into Continental Europe, along the Baltic coast, to Norway, etc.
