    I was all ready to tell you that a P-400 was actually an export version of the P-39... But your's is a much better story.

      ....there is a lovely propaganda film from Pathe Gazette, showing 'The RAF's new wonder fighter',and showing pilots running to their new P-39s (They are from 601 Sqn) The pilots HATED them, as they were so used to high-altitude combat,and that is where most of the European action took place.

      They were quickly disposed of........
