I will deploy some distraction tactics.

I would most certainly stand in awe of your collection of books.

My own humble collection is somewhat eclectic.  Several bookshelves worth of Sci-fi, including several Gb of Ebooks.  A huge collection of Star Trek magazines, almost the complete collection of Real Robots mags, including the two robots assembled and another partly complete.  Computer books, physics and maths books.  These occupy bookshelves distributed through several rooms in the house.

On top of this I have a collection of un-built model kits,  Some radio-controlled models, several robots, more computers than I care to count, and three sonic screwdrivers, one purchased, with a forth approaching completion. Needing some electronics, a small amount of machining on the home-built CNC mill, and two lathes, then assembly.  The fifth is in the design stage.

if it's less than 200 kits it's hardly worth mentioning.

Sez the guy with less than 200 in the stash.

One group of modelers I hang with probably have enough kits stashed away for a couple of WELL stocked hobby shops.

...By the time I was 18 I was buying, selling and trading kits as far away as Poland and Australia, and attending the IPMS USA Convention where I had a trading table.

When I happened to send a photocopy of the box art of an ultra-rare* Frog version of the Hasgawa A-5 Vigilante kit to a collector in London, he appeared on my doorstep 3 hours later (in Derby) waving 200 pounds in my face in 5 Pound notes (he went away disappointed, after I had let him open the box - rather naughty, wasn't I?)

        * Frog made less than 500 of these before the agreement with Hasegawa lapsed
