  •  These "right to work" states, what they do is (14+ / 0-)

entice corporations to open offices and plants in their states by offering them huge tax breaks and assuring them unions won't be a drain on their profits. Usually mid to lower paying jobs and at first glance jobs are a good thing. BUT, the tax breaks are usually so big that the states wound up losing money on the deal adding stress to the already stressed treasuries of the state.

Initially these deals appear as a win for the republican politicians because they can brag about employment going up. But they always come at the cost of closed schools, neglected bridges and roads, shrinking police and fire departments and reductions in most state services. It puts them on the road to becoming slum states with the addition of new bastions of office parks and gated communities.

It also creates a race to the bottom with other desperate "right to work" states vying for the corporate business. The very businesses that hire brokers to pit states against each other.

So all in all, it creates a lose/lose situation for America, but a win/win for the elite of the corporate profiteers.

We truly are sliding back into the desperate, brutal economic dichotomy of the 1800s.

    Well done republicans.

Vote Tea Party Taliban! Bring the Burqa to America.
