Catching the title of your diary at first blush gave me the impression that you would write today about Kristallnact, The Night of Broken you probably know refers to glass breaking, windows and Nazis during Hitlers first acts sitting on the throne in Germany.

I wish it would had been the case but unfortunately I see your depressed and confusing diary of glass breaking in your own home. I am relieved to think that the brick thrown through your window, hopefully, was a kid`s prank, if anything hopefully.

However, getting into your diary it still reminds me every time I read or see broken windows and I want to say I am terribly sorry that you would be spooked so harshly by some crazy ass. That you are unable to understand the reason for this prank probably adds weigh to my thinking that it may have been a stupid kid prank.

I am sorry my friend. Do take care of yourself and you family,
especially now that you have a reason.

mother was immediately pulled out of school and advised that "it isn't safe any longer". She and her parents were able to escape Nazi Germany and come to America (otherwise I would not be here writing this). I have heard many times of the story that began with that shattered glass. I didn't mention it to my husband, but it was on my mind last night.

Those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it... in summer school.
