"Look, I don't hate on Scott Brown, and he's far from the worst thing in the Senate, he's just really not good, and really aligned with the voters of Massachusetts, and Elizabeth Warren wouldn't be good, either, she'd be one-in-a-generation awesome. I'd gladly support and help subidize the gas for the helicopter dropping Scott Brown into South Carolina with his national guard troops to storm the offices of Jim DeMint and have him forcibly take that senate seat."

I think I may have even used that line here five or ten times. I had to use it a number of times to extricate myself from packs of Boston MetroWest wild neocons circling my car after they saw my Warren bumpersticker. I had no idea DeMint was packing for the Heritage Foundation.  BTW, I fully expect this is setting up for looking pretty for a teabag-conservative presidential candidate (or one craving Teabag credentials, see Romney, Mitt; 2012 campaign) in 2016 for DeMint.

Colbert for Senate?  Oh, eff yeah.  Does a stipend from Comedy Central to help subsidize Senate proceedings (so long as Stephen chairs a committee that meets weeknightly at 11:30 PM Eastern time sharp and they can tape it with a live audience) as a contributor to federal budget cutting sweeten this deal at all to the good folks of South Carolina?  Private enterprise and all that, y'know....
