    ...because the Republicans were really and truly expecting a Romney landslide.

    When you're expecting to win by 7 or 8%, and end up losing by 4%, that's a crushing blow.

    From a rational perspective, I'd agree that 4% isn't a crushing defeat...but remember that we're not talking about rational people here.

      because reality is, a president gets elected by the electoral college. So the Obama team elected to play by the rules that were, not the rules the GOP hoped for. That's Reality

      New polling news that 50% MORE people in Alabama were going to vote for Romney means shit when it doesn't change Electoral college votes at all. This is where the delusions started.

      The GOP, and pollsters, were still pissed off by Bush "Winning" 2000 and losing the popular vote and being unable to justify it - so they tuned this cognitive dissonance out.Even though it (the EC) is reality, dissonant or not.

      Without geometry, life is pointless. And blues harmonica players suck.
