  •  The blatant and repeated lies of romney (6+ / 0-)

and his campaign is not brought up in discussions of 'why romney lost" or how it was a theme of the campaign.
It was so out there, not subtle or covert. It wasn't spin or exaggeration, it was lying. I've never seen anything like it. A big f'ing deal as Joe would say.
And if he had won would it be the new way to go?
Will the next group just lie bigger and louder?

I wish it was discussed every time campaign is being autopsied. Look at the press handling of it, the campaign reaction and choices.

They should be shamed and ashamed. It should not ever be an accepted practice.

    •  agreed, absolutely. (4+ / 0-)

Perfectly rational, otherwise decent people, who would never lie this way in their own lives, or put up with it from coworkers, neighbors, friends or family, accepted it in service of their party.
The "news" media, even NPR and often the New York Times, were perfectly willing to repeat lies in the name of "balance" without blinking an eye.  It was stupifying.
