  •  It seems very politically expedient to me (6+ / 0-)

I would have a difficult time trusting someone who actually ran whole-heartedly for one party, saying "I embody this ideology so much that I will print it next to my name on ballots, take money and endorsements from the party, and take votes from candidates who are of this party," only to shift around and say, "I embody this other ideology which is the polar opposite of what I formerly said I was, so much that I will do all of the same that I did before, only now with a different stamp on me."

Any politician who knows so little about himself or herself is not fit to represent others.

But I'm not so cynical as to think Crist is that stupid. However, I'm cynical enough to believe that he sees that he doesn't have a shot in Hell of winning through the changing voter demographic.

To me, this sort of thing is one of the greatest reasons for voter apathy, voter confusion, and voter cynicism. We really don't need more of that to win, IMHO. We're doing quite well without a chameleonic opportunist like Crist. Just my humble opinion: I think this hurts more than helps.

Actually stated that the only reason why he switched from Republicon to Democrat was because he couldn't win as a Republicon.  Well, he didn't win as a Democrat either and I was glad about that.

Never be afraid to voice your opinion and fight for it . Corporations aren't people, they're Republicans (Rev Al Sharpton 10/7/2011)

    •  That's Charlie Crist for you (0+ / 0-)

Everything he does has a political calculation to it. But on the other hand, he does represent the old adage that he hasn't lleft the party, the party has left him. Charlie Crist hasn't changed at all in terms of his views, but his party sure has.
