      I, personally, agree that it's a foolish and absurd proposition, but the EC (European Commission) plans on presenting a bill which provides for a "right to be forgotten".  The fact that even the weaker condition of "irreversible anonymity" is provably impossible to achieve doesn't seem to be a barrier here.

        ...that the Euro-Commission completely misunderstood the Internet (see: ACTA; fortunately the Euro-Parliament shut that one down).

        I suspect the real project is to make information harder for ordinary people to access in order to shut down things like citizen journalism (which no doubt they plan on shrugging off as "collateral damage").

          That Brussels has mandated something that cannot actually happen.

          Reality and the European Parliament seem to be pretty much orthogonal.
