  •  I've made that suggestion several times (12+ / 0-)

always get a no thanks.  My mom is always getting me to watch Fox on a regular basis.  I told her I would only do it if she watched MSNBC during the same amount of time, and she has to discuss with me what she heard on it.

    That ended that forever.

Most people who know me know they'll feel like idiots if they quote some talking point to me, then back it up with "...because that's what Rush/Sean/Glenn/Fox and Friends said..." Then I make them sound even more foolish if they go to the next level and start saying "Oh I heard it somewhere" or "I don't remember where I heard that." I laugh in their faces at the idea they want me to change my opinion to something "a fairy whispered to you in the wind."

But usually I do what our diarist does--just ask, never challenge or ridicule--then,  instead of mentioning Red State, etc., they usually pull unicorns out of their butts.  "Go look it up!  All the networks had it on yesterday!  They all reported he was born in Kenya!"

I can't change anyone's minds, but apparently I can make them take their opinions underground or look like complete idiots.
