    I appreciate that you tried to describe what a college loan crash would look like but I'm still a little hazy on how it impacts the general public. If the madness of bailouts exists that should be stopped asap with some kind of firewall.

    First, stop the bleed. The gov't could establish limits like 2% fixed interest rate for the life of the loan, limit loans to a public state college tuition, limit Pell's to public institutions with rational tuition rates. IOW, regulate the loans and create market incentives for private as well as public schools to manage lower tuition. How is it in the public interest to fund increasing private school tuition anyway?

    Here's one Republican who thinks the answer is less kids go to college! That should be exactly the opposite goal IMO.  

    Let all Bush tax cuts expire and , bring on the Sequestration cuts to defense.
