    I think that online is a very appropriate way to study poetry.  I've had all of my best discussions on the subject online, as well as the best back-and-forth extemporaneous versification contests.  If you're a WORD person, the text medium strips out the nonessential ego trivia of personal interaction, while leaving the subliminal and connotative meanings of the words, phrases, and syntax intact.

      neurocognition and reading, there is just no such thing as "nonessential ego trivia of personal interaction."

      Reading, as per Martha Nussbaum and Mikhael Bakhtin and every single Pragmatic Linguist, and really most Semioticians, is socially situated.

      I'm not sure how deeply I want to debate this since it literally seems like folly.
