      Literally means 'one by means of two'

      Skillfully used, the conjoined words kind of oscillate so you cant quite pin down the emerging meaning.

      Law and Order is an example.  In some poltical discourse it can be difficult to decide where it has house and  home in the right-left theoretical spectrum.

      Shakespeare makes a lot of use of this in Hamlet, possibly to create sense of Hamlet's not quite solid mental state.
