We learned it our first week here when my husband went to a gun shop to find out how to register his hand gun. The owner grinned and said "we don't do that here. We're a Constitution State!" We had no idea what that meant.  :)

But we quickly figured out that stuff we had to register, get permits for, or go through a state bureaucracy for was either not required, simplified, left to local agents and fees were often next to nothing.

And we were astounded to find out that our legislature is only part time.

And quickly, we fell into the groove. Don't complain about the ndighbor's illegal burning; they don't complain about your dog barking and we don't complain about the other ndighbor's kid's garage band that plays all night.

We leave each other alone, and we rely on each other. We don't need to government for much. When the government couldn't keep our parks open, we formed a commission, taxed ourselves and kept them open.

I love this state. My heart is here.

The others should leave if they want. More space for the rest of us.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.
