        As writers surely we all want as much exposure as possible?

        The number of complaints I hear about what gets Recommended and Spotlighted tends to confirm that :)

        FWIW, I don't necessarily see the FP writers as being "of kos" ...

        I think they get there because the management team considers that what they write well represents the site, and is key to driving the message forwards.

        I hardly think that they are discouraged from expressing their feelings, even if the articles are subjected to an editorial process that the Recent Diary List is not.

        Also, if they write "for the front page", they also lose control over when the Diary will publish, because the FP has a Diary Queue, and things are prioritized.

        It;s a decent gig though :)

        I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
        but I fear we will remain Democrats.
