  •  Get rid of Bush tax cuts for everyone! (5+ / 0-)

Let 'em all sunset.  The Bush cuts, especially from 2003, were irresponsible and led to the debt/ deficits we have now.  They should never have happened in the first place!

Once allowed to sunset, the rates on high income earners should go to 45% plus a Buffett rule so no accountants can dodge taxes for their clients.  Then, we can expand Medicare to Medicare for All, raise the SS cap and benefits, and start a new "WPA" with massive public works projects such as high-speed rail and new airport infrastructure.

Could the Hoover Dam or Golden Gate Bridge have been built back in the '30's with today's toxic politics?   Hell no, and if we are ever to build such great public assets again, the above prescription, or something close, has to happen.  And we all have to pitch in.  End the tax cuts for everyone even if the cliff is reached.
