    Medicare needs to be expanded to be more financially secure. Of course, at present, Medicare is a ponzi scheme -- because it is a death-fighting health care program, not a real social insurance scheme covering everyone from birth.

    If Medicare would really be helped by raising the age, I say hell yes, but this agreement just concedes to the GOP their -- very false -- argument that Medicare costs the health care system money, instead of rescuing it from the horrors of private insurance.

    No deal :(

      On payments by employees into medicare so every dollar of income is taxed.

      I am 5 1/2 years away and due to my age I cannot find affordable private insurance. My significant other is already on Medicare so "we" no longer have a plan.

      I think I should be able to buy into Medicare now because self employed small firms cannot afford the premiums for the remaining partner.

      People in my situation will be screwed and if you live in Texas you will really be in trouble.

      Once Obama care kicks in hospitals in Texas, due to Mr. Hair, will loose their Federal money for the uninsured.
