  •  Hi, I'm Asian. (8+ / 0-)

But you wouldn't know unless I told you. It's the Internet after all.

We know better than you trying to speak our language to know what you're up to.

My whole freaking family relied upon public education to get from dirt floors to tile floors. We fully understand what quality public education can do for a very motivated poor person.

Starting with my grandparents: publicly educated OBGYN and mechanical engineer. They started from dirt floors, evil step-parents and being close to being massacred by Kuomingtang occupational forces (2-28 massacre).

My dad: MD from Taipei Medical University
My mom: BA from National Taiwan University

Myself: K-12 public schooling. BS from UCLA. Studying engineering PhD at University of Michigan.

They paid next to nothing to receive their education because it was fully government subsidized minus the registration fee of $100 or so.

The education we have subjects us to a liberal bias, anyway. Sure we might be cheap asses but deep down as long as something is provided with ethics and quality, we will buy it. Lately, my brother and I have a competition with each other about buying things made in Not-China! (Naive, i know) Bonus points for buying completely American made and American sourced goods.

I can talk to you if you don't have stubborn preconceptions about everything. Republicans seem pretty stuck on their views on life and their talking points are either lies or logical fallacies.

Why hello there reality, how are you doing?

    •  Yup. Attacks on public education will not win (3+ / 0-)

the GOP any votes from asians. Also- their whole approach of trying to paint Harvard graduates as eggheads and 'elitists' simply will not resonate with asians. We view somebody like Obama as a highly accomplished man and we don't regard Harvard graduates as anything other than smart, studious people to be admired and emulated.
