  •  Unbeatable for nomination; but avoid coronation (0+ / 0-)

    Although Hillary would probably be unbeatable for the nomination, it is important that, in place of a coronation, she be tested (and pushed to make a few more Progressive commitments) by a main opposing candidate, ideally one whose policies are more different from hers than the differences between her and Obama in 2008.

    Russ Feingold (whom the Clintons presumably still dislike from his vote on Bill's impeachment) would be a logical and productive main challenger, because he would be well-positioned to highlight campaign finance, civil liberties and climate change.

    Hillary would probably move far in his direction on campaign finance, while she should be pushed hard on climate change.  She would probably stick to a conservative Democratic line on civil liberties, which Progressives would have no choice but to live with.
