The 1st Amendment gives you the right to say stupid things, the 1st Amendment doesn't guarantee a paycheck to say stupid things.

No one goes sailing without a knife. It's essential safety gear.

We were not ahead of our time, we led the way to our time.

There are a lot of people out there without a clue.

I have, like the guy in the article, carried a pocket knife since I was 10 - since I got my "Totin' Chip" in the scouts.  Mine has a pair of pliers, a pair of scissors, blades, screwdrivers, etc, and I always keep the 2 knife blades razor sharp.  It's the proper way to maintain your tools.

A few years ago in an Egyptology class, the professor had brought in some reeds to demonstrate how papyrus is made ... and forgot her knife.

So I pulled mine out when she asked if anyone had a knife, and helped with the demo.

This was at a University, with the youngest in the room at least 20, and some people freaked out.  "He's got a knife!"

"Yeah - I also have a toothpick!" was my only response.

I am not religious, and did NOT say I enjoyed sects.
