  •  Bees like my sunshine mimosa (7+ / 0-)

"lawn" (ground cover) when it is blooming.  Mimosa strigillosa is the scientific name.
I get carpenter bees making holes in my wooden porch, not a great experience.  I had a huge number of them one year, but now it is a smaller nuisance.  My big pine tree was struck and killed by lightning and all the azaleas around it were killed.  The azaleas blooming seemed to coincide with the arrival of carpenter bees, and after the azaleas were gone, I have fewer of them.     I have wasps nesting in some bamboo wind chimes.  I try to love all pollinators, but it is tough sometimes.  I have a lot of butterflies in my yard because I cultivate their host plants.
