    of white grub parasitoids in the families Scoliidae and Tiphiidae.
    Home owners often think that they are yellow-jackets or Africanized bees.  They are not!  The swarms mostly consist of stingless males looking for emerging females. So they are totally harmless as well as beneficial.  The females can sting, but only if you grab one barehanded. They have no nest to protect.
