  •  The Elephant in the Room (0+ / 0-)

I still think that the elephant in the room is the unadressed question: "How do we distribute National wealth without the job." It seems clear that the jobs are NOT coming back---between techology, outsourcing, etc. I don't believe they're coming back. A staunch union man (I belong to three) still, you can't organize if there's no work. It was Richard Nixon who first floated the idea of a guaranteed annual income for Americans. Think half a second---what kind of freedom is begging for a job? That is the "freedom" of men and women who have been stripped of everything but their labor to sell. I know it sounds kind of "Red" to say that, but it's true. All corporate wealth is based to some degree on exploitation of the Commons for which workers and citizens receive no compensation---soil, air, water fouled, timber stripped, fish exploited, and we are left to beg for work. We need to think for deeply about this I think. Anyone else agree?

A clay Buddha can't cross water. An iron Buddha can't go through a Furnace. A wood Buddha can't cross a fire. Nothing works all the time.

push the masses to the cliff of despair the masses will do what they did in czarist russia, they will take what they want and eliminate the 1% as an obstacle to survival, greed just might lead to the elimination of the elite class in america, at least as we know it today.
