Let's vote to re-elect the deal-makers because they're "better than the Republicans"!

      and that's still not funny.

It's like laughing at a helpless person on the sidewalk who's being kicked repeatedly in the stomach.

The Democrats here have been put into a very bad position, one in which they have no good choices. You could at least acknowledge that.

Better yet, instead of simply pointing out the unpleasant truth, you could suggest some practical alternative. I may have voted for Jill Stein but that doesn't mean I have any illusions that voting for her did anything except make a personal statement of principle that matters to no one but me.

Actually it's like laughing at a not-helpless group of people, vast as they are, who choose to kick themselves repeatedly in the stomach because they tell themselves that doing so is better than being shot in the head.

There's no way the elites are more powerful than us, not without our co-operation.

          listen.

Reforming the Democratic party isn't the answer. The series of articles in The Nation on how to save the Democratic party pretty much tells me that.

Third party doesn't work unless we can either tear the media away from its corporate owners or build our own (more thoroughly than we already have) and make sure it doesn't get co-opted.

We can try doing things for ourselves, as with Occupy Sandy, but what happens when the elites send cops or private security firms or military to shut us down?

I don't like despair; it doesn't agree with me. I am seriously asking you for input here.

before people discover the truth about the Democratic Party.

It works this way in other countries, too -- you can see, for instance, how long it took for Greece to develop SYRIZA...
