  •  another out of control police dept (5+ / 0-)

I had a pizza place a few years back. One of my employees was a delivery driver, and was delivering drugs as well. He got busted on a delivery, and unbeknownst to me was a son of a police officer. To make an incredibly long story short, I was threatened by both police officers and detectives, I was arrested for being a party to this, I was visited by a police officer and had my life threatened if I did not plead guilty and take the rap. Fortunately at the time, I had money, hired an excellent attorney, and had the whole thing dismissed. The police know they are the law, and are accountable to no one. If they decide you are guilty, you are going down. I also suffered 3 speeding tickets in 3 months after the dismissal, all were dismissed. I had a camera from my phone record the last one, and threatened the city with a lawsuit after the officer was seen smiling when I told him I had not in fact been speeding. I have not had any speeding tickets since.

I will never trust any police officer completely. They have my respect, but warily at best.
