    and our enemies don't.

I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.

I'd lose, because at the end of the day the franchise would be seriously undermined. I'd get my guys in, a short-term gain, but the long-term loss would be more than the moral loss to my soul.

kind of activity - candidates who would accept that from their team - would be corrupt and if you aren't "pro corruption" like this guy seems to be, those candidates would not be worth working for would they?

There is nothing to win by getting someone elected. It's only about stopping evil people from taking power. Nothing more.  Staying ethical and losing leads to unnecessary wars, worker and minority rights being trampled on, the shredding of the social safety net, and increased political corruption in the future.

Ethics belongs in grass roots activism, where showing your ability to stand up for what you believe in matters.

I have plenty of activist friends who won't vote in this country because every serious politician does things they believe are wrong. It's ethical, but counter productive.  The current crop of off the deep end Republicans must be stopped, at all costs.

        •  so you would be willing to rig an election (0+ / 0-)

to get the "right" people in?

corrupting the system to win means people's right to the franchise being trampled on. how are you going to stop that once it's started?

it ain't the purity of my soul I'm worried about.
