  •  I noted expection of this specific event (0+ / 0-)

...in June, 2012 in RED ALERT : Seven Events that Will Precede the US Economic Collapse Starting Fall 2012.

Since then, the source I cited has doubled down of the predictions, while a great deal of portfolio re balancing and direct currency swap treaties have been effected among the intentional survivors:

Katrina-Sandy: From one hurricane to another, the end of America as we knew it

    November 2012 Newsletter

The month of October 2012 will appear in history books as the date of the end of America as we knew it in the twentieth century. On October 29, the Hurricane Sandy hit New York 83 years to the day after the Black Tuesday crisis of 1929, revealing to the world the real state of American society and its symbol, New York City.

Confirming all forecasts of our Team over the last six years regarding the deteriorating health of the U.S., Hurricane Sandy will become the event marking the last step in the collapse of the American system. Affecting the financial center of the country, highlighting the inability of the nation’s most powerful city to resist a “small” hurricane known about several days in advance, it marks the end of America as it had been known.

From Katrina to Sandy we passed through the Lehman Brothers and a series of shocks shaking US power down to the bedrock. The confidence of the world is gone... As anticipated in January of 2006, the “dollar wall” (3) has been cracking for six years... 2013 will be the year of the collapse of twentieth century America.

While Obama was the best-choice candidate for the rest of the world, his re-election enables us to see no change at all ahead, the worst news of all in light of what is now known about the U.S.’s economic and social situation.

Everything that went unresolved in the last four years remains on the table. The campaign tamped them down, and now they emerge stronger and more intractable.

With the re-election of Obama difficult to swallow for Republicans, the U.S. will not be able to overcome the challenges coming in late 2012 and early 2013: on the economic side, the fiscal cliff, the debt ceiling, the bond bubble, the student loan bubble; on the social side, the explosive divide between the white, pro-Romney majority and the mostly pro-Obama minorities....

When you first posted the Seven Events prediction, I clearly recall that your sources posited the precipitating event of collapse as American entanglement in an Iran-Israeli war.  So far we have managed to avoid that catastrophe, yet I see no mention of how that prediction was wrong.

Just sayin'.  Your sources may know finance very well but not be quite as inside on political maneuvering.  And they certainly didn't predict Sandy!

      •  Indeed. There are many specifics (1+ / 0-)

...in the seven proposed black swan events leading up to the ONE final predicted outcome:  "The collapse of the US economy." All seven are still in play and Fall officially ends December 21st.

They always do a post-mortem to calculate their cumulative accuracy in the first part of the following year. It runs at about 87 percent, so we shall see. They publish again on December 16th, so maybe something will be revealed, then. Or, perhaps they will double down again.

All that being said, their predictions surrounding this matter do not differ much from most of the world's think tanks.

    •  Maybe the U.S story is really about gold bugs (0+ / 0-)

using power they find themselves controlling so that the dollar stops being the reserve currency of the world, creating an opening (in their minds) for a return to the gold standard economies of history as a way to punish unruly lower classes (multiethnic 99 %). Or maybe it is simply the creditor class pulling in their chips.

I'm just trying to find some core motives for the Republicans holding our currency hostage only to injure it--against normal economic motivations, such as avoiding having the U.S. paying more interest on debt obligations--beyond any damage that may be occurring for other reasons (multipolar world power centers).

The labor of a human being is not a commodity or article of commerce. Clayton Act, Section 6.

    •  Hey Pluto, 83 years is 1/2 the time Neptune takes (0+ / 0-)

to go around the Sun...83 years before 1929 is around the time of the Civil War....hmmm. And within 83 years we'll have waters of the sea encroaching on coastal lands enough to displace a majority of the human population.  Undersea god Neptune's Trident may be impaling itself in humanity's collective arses (insert other planet name jokes here).  Can the FSM's Noodly Appendage snare away that intrusive Trident which has been afflicting us for our collective illusions?
