  •  I Knew A Girl With Italian Blood And Greenish Skin (4+ / 0-)

She was quite lovely, big eyes, tall and leggy, and I'm a sap for that. One day I  looked at her and said "I've heard of an olive complexion, but you are green."  She said "Yes I know, most people don't notice."

      I SO bad.

    •  Maybe the greenish color is due to excess (0+ / 0-)

billirubin in the blood.  Ever notice people who have jaundice from liver disease and they have a yellowish color.
I think there are some other types of metabolic products, maybe billiverdin, that can be overproduced to cause a greenish color.  I'm not sure.  Anyway, I remember when I was young that my sister and I used to walk to the train station each morning together and always encountered this strange man waiting for the train who had a sort of olive oil -greenish tint to his skin.  He looked Indian or some related nationality. I used to kid my sister that he was really a martian who had infiltrated our society.
