When was the last time you saw a union member portrayed positively in in TV or the movies? There was Norma Rae in the early 80's, but that was a rarity even then. Union members are portrayed as incompetent, lazy or thugs. The unions themselves are portrayed as if they are the mafia. Non-union workers are portrayed as hard-working and industrious, despite union workers generally being better trained than non-union workers.

Calling union members thugs isn't something new, it's been going on for many decades. A long time ago, both Democrats and Republicans courted the union vote, but that was long ago. Republicans lost the union vote because of anti-union policies. Rather than change to win union support, the GOP doubled down and tripled down their anti-union policies. Labor has been fighting delaying tactics for decades.

Corporations are unions too: they are capital unions rather than labor unions. If it is such a terrible thing that workers pool their power, why should owners be able to pool their power?

Wingnuts will say that there is a natural right to a corporation, as it is just freedom of association. Nonsense. If that's what you want, start a partnership. A corporate charter is granted in the public interest. Labor unions are one of the few remaining checks on corporate power.
