    I must have hit a nerve.

    Time will tell. Not all presidents in their second term just dwindle away. Reagan did enormous damage in his second term. Clinton didn't really get a full second term because of impeachment, but he did get things like DOMA, welfare reform and DADT done. Bush the Smaller sure had an impact in his second term.

    Now we have a president who's reversing all that, and he can't even get support from some on our own side. That fact is starting to bother me less and less, however. The major effort the "True Progressives" (and I don't know if you're one of those) managed was to get people to stay home in 2010.

    I think Obama is going to crush the Republicans in this fight and in their debt ceiling threat. And he isn't going to raise the Medicare eligibility age either.
