in a democracy with what we call "checks and balances". You've heard that phrase before, right? It tells us that the president is not a dictator, and therefore must gain the cooperation of the legislature in order to do anything related to taxation or the budget. If you were not aware of this, I am pleased to have been of service (my first good deed of the year!).

    •  Defense spending is not negotiable. (5+ / 0-)

Imposing the police state is not negotiable.

Smashing public education is not negotiable.

But, I assume your principles are negotiable, like any truly rapacious capitalist.

Tens of millions of people vote for candidates that are right-wingers, and since we live in a democracy we have to compromise with those people. There are many on the right (the Tea Party) that don't understand this "negotiating" thing either, that think the country should just be run the way they see it. They are wrong, as you are. Democracy is a mess, but until the majority of the US is as liberal as we here at Daily Kos, that is the way it is.

We have to compromise with fanatical losers? Will it gain us anything? No. But, we.just.must.

Why don't you just hand them our gun and let them shoot us.

          Just more annoying persiflage.

          •  Yes, we do. Those "fanatical losers" (0+ / 0-)

have exactly the same rights to representation as we do. Sucks, right? We on the left should just get to determine the nation's fate, and put a stop to these irritating elections!

No. Those fanatics are wrecking our system of government. They are breaking their oath to uphold the creditworthy-ness of our finances (written in the Constitution). They are holding a government designed around compromise hostage to their extremism.

Their right to representation ends at the end of my right to not have my country's credit ruined over NOTHING but their politicization of what was a rubber stamp function up to four years ago.

You apologize for them. You spout the kind of rancid phony patriotism that the GOP does.

        •  We won, did we not? The compromise was (0+ / 0-)

          when we voted, they lost.

    •  Oh, for (5+ / 0-)

fuck's sake, I have had it with patronizing bullshit from those pretending this administration is "doing the best it can" under the auspices of "democracy".

Dude, you can knock it off, or you can continue to be part of the problem.

It is time to #Occupy Media.
