    answered, "but what about when the democrats are in the minority again?" by confidently asserting, "I'm not afraid of democracy." In other words, if the majority of the Americans want the republicans to run the Senate, then the republicans can and should pursue their legislative policies.

    It was the best response I've heard to "think of the future" hand-ringing.

      After Republicans abused the filibuster for 6 years, they know the abuse it a problem for the majority. So if they ever get the majority again, they will change the rules on the first day of their new session so that Democrats can't do exactly what they did to abuse it.
