  •  "and saying I've got the rights of everyone else". (19+ / 0-)

I can imagine it wouldn't matter to these two guys what the first part of that sentence was.  What they truly believe is the last part.

    •  Steve Czaban is a HUGE 'winger (11+ / 0-)

Stumped hard (and inappropriately) for McCain during his on-air time in 2008. Made his politics known, loud-and-long when he had his own radio show on Fox Sports (of course) on XMRadio. He used to have a black producer on that Fox Sports show but they parted ways during that period, with Steve being very cagey about why that happened. Many of us were proud he got canned (due to bad ratings).

Andy Polin is not generally regarded for questionable social commentary by those of us inside the beltway who listen to sports talk. But Steve Czaban has always been a loudmouth who put his RW politics constantly front-and-center in his sportstalk. I recall he supported Limbaugh during that whole dust-up where Limbaugh said racist garbage about then-Eagles-QB Donovan McNabb during an ESPN football pre-game show.

Up until a couple of years ago, the DC radio market had only Andy & Steve to choose from for sportstalk during afternoon drive-time. For the last couple of years we have the option of former NFL player LaVar Arrington and his partner Chad Dukes, who are a much more listenable option. And much funnier. (Don't get me wrong here. Chad Dukes has a locker-room humor streak as well.)

in the mornings. I quit listening to sports radio because of the blowhard Cowherd.

        Small varmints, if you will.

radio sites (like TuneIn Radio or iHeart Radio) or get the apps (if you have a smartphone) you can pick up some pretty good local shows from other parts of the country, and not all of them are of the idiotic shock-jock variety. (My favorite, Damon Bruce, is available on iHeart Radio from noon-3 Pacific time weekdays.)

Okay, this was totally OT but just wanted to pass it on...

As I wrote in my comment way downthread, I remember he once tweeted a picture of a handgun with the barrel pointed towards whoever would hold it, saying that this what he wanted to see happen to gun control advocates. You won't be able to find it because he deleted it minutes later.

Talk about lose-lose though. LaVar and Dukes have absolutely nothing to offer in terms of in-depth understanding or substantive reporting. Then again, almost no sports radio program does.

I did not know he supported Limbaugh in the McNabb flap, I knew he was a right winger though when he had Bob Ehrlich and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend calling in (at different times) and I know Czaban has a sexist streak so I can't say I should be surprised he's gotten more outspokenly right wing.
