we think things the way they are have to be taken seriously and expected to continue

    not so

if all the people are pushed around and demoralized long enough, the place stops working, as in tsarist russia

and i suspect that americans are sick of going to war to support the oligarchy

obtaining change is called, "Work to Rule." That means you do nothing more than is absolutely necessary to complete your job responsibilities. Once, when I was a teacher, we did so and won a better pay and benefits package. We stood outside the school until one minute before the bell to start school and we all left one minute following the dismissal bell. In other words, we did absolutely nothing beyond our contract. It is amazing how much we did over and above our contract and the school district was thrilled. Not so much when we stopped doing things we used to do for free and because we cared.

Hope has a hole in it when Republicans come, bringing shackles and sorrow; branding their greed on the backs of the poor. - Wendy Connors
