    A health insurance plan, such as Medicare, can be greatly strengthened by expanding the pool to include younger and healthier participants.  In that way, the risk versus receipts becomes more equal and no one is denied care when it is needed.  

    If the goal is to keep the Medicare system running as efficiently as possible, we should be looking into ways to lower the age of Medicare eligibility, not ways to increase it. The Republican plan chips away at Medicare affordability - one of its greatest strengths - seemingly by design.
    Thus far, every Republican proposal concerning Medicare will have the net effect of weakening it and bankrupting the funds sooner.  This is exactly what they want.  As far as Social Security goes, it should not even be a part of the conversation involving the national debt.  It stands alone in its own dedicated trust fund and that is self sustaining.

    Thank you for standing up for the American people.
