    PBS/NPR stations to hire Latinos - using CPB grants.

    not much has changed since then.

      battles with the station over their hiring practices. Also with my battles with NPR over their refusals to air programming materials about Mexican Americans and American Indians.

      While that station management agonized over the possibility of offending a mythical "little old lady in tennis shoes" (their terminology, not mine), they had no concern about offending Chicanos, Indians, or young people.

      Okay, I'll get off the soap box now.
