    and it was interesting to see it used against Sonia Sotomayor - they stuck her in a sombrero in cartoons.

      I hate to say this, because I did enjoy them as a child, but the cartoons most boomers saw while growing up did nothing but show Latino-types as lazy, emotional characters.  Just think of the cartoon characters which came out of Disney and Warner Brothers during that period.  Just how many hours of viewing did boomers see on TV, which was just starting at the time, of this type of programming.  In my home town, we had about two hours of cartoons in the morning as we were getting ready to go to school and at least two hours every afternoon once we returned from school and lay on the living room floor working on home work for the next day.  That's a lot of propaganda over the years.
